The Upper Los Angeles River Watershed Area is located in the midwest portion of Los Angeles County. The watershed area drains to the Pacific Ocean via the Los Angeles River and includes the Arroyo Seco, Verdugo Wash, Tujunga Wash and Pacoima Wash. Municipalities that fall within the boundaries of this Watershed Area include: Los Angeles, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles County, Burbank, Calabasas, Alhambra, San Fernando, South Pasadena, Monterey Park, Hidden Hills, Santa Clarita, and Pasadena.
The Upper Los Angeles River Watershed Area is estimated to receive up to $38.9 million annually to fund regional projects and programs.
Regional Program funds for the Watershed Area are programmed by the Watershed Area Steering Committee comprised of local stakeholders from agencies, municipalities, and community members from within the Watershed Area. The Steering Committee will meet regularly to develop funding plans and recommendations to provide water quality, water supply, and community enhancement benefits to the region.
