The Upper San Gabriel River Watershed Area is located in the mideast portion of Los Angeles County. The watershed area drains to the San Gabriel River and ultimately into the Pacific Ocean. This watershed area includes Big Dalton Wash, San Dimas Wash, Walnut Creek, Live Oak Wash, and San Jose Creek. Municipalities that fall within the boundaries of this Watershed Area include: Baldwin Park, Covina, Duarte, Glendora, Industry, Los Angeles County, West Covina, Diamond Bar, Claremont, Azusa, La Verne, Walnut, Irwindale, La Puenta, El Monte, Duarte, South El Monte, Bradbury, Arcadia, Monrovia, Pomona, and San Dimas.

The Upper San Gabriel River Watershed Area is estimated to receive up to $19.00 million annually to fund regional projects and programs.

Regional Program funds for the Watershed Area are programmed by the Watershed Area Steering Committee  comprised of local stakeholders from agencies, municipalities, and community members from within the Watershed Area. The Steering Committee will meet regularly to develop funding plans and recommendations to provide water quality, water supply, and community enhancement benefits to the region.
